Victoria Beckham Shows her Spring Collection & Enjoys NYC with Baby Harper

It’s been a busy last few days for Victoria Beckham. On Sunday she showed her spring/summer 2012 collection at the New York City Library. She was seen shopping an hour later at Prada on 5th Ave, and then later more shopping in Soho followed by lunch at Balthazar, all while holding baby Harper wearing sky high Louboutins. Monday, she previewed her secondary (less expensive) line which will also be out in the spring 2012.

Victoria Beckham is receiving great reviews on both collections, both her handbag and sunglasses line are doing extremely well, and Victoria Beckham (the collections) are becoming a full lifestyle luxury brand. A brick-and-mortar store is said to also be on the horizon (how amazing would that be?!)

On the runway, Victoria showed her sportier side with long, lean coats with slick black leather leggings. Her stretch dresses were to the knee with bright, bold colors of tangerine and navy blue and black and white or cream dresses with utility straps. Her shorter dresses were very modern with of course her signature zipper all the way down the back on each piece. She also continued the zippers trend on some of the front pockets of the dresses.

The second half of her collection was a softer side of pleated skirts and jackets in soft colors of ivory and lavender. Most of the looks were accented with her boxy bag and totes also from her collections.

Victoria also sat down with Elle after the preview of her secondary collection.

On baby Harper “I can’t leave her alone for a minute, I haven’t been out without her since she was born nine weeks ago, she’s too wonderful to leave,” ‘We went in to Prada yesterday and she loved it. It was as if she was saying, “Mummy I’m home’’

On the more affordable collection “This has been a real labour of love for me and we have been working on it for around a year,” “I wanted something that was a little bit more affordable but I did not want to compromise with design or quality. It’s not a second line, or a diffusion line – it’s another line, another side to my wardrobe. This is a way to give my customers what they want.”
