Hot Dresses and Hot Messes on the Red Carpet: Oscars 2011

I’ve been waiting weeks to watch and finally last night was the 83rd Annual Academy Awards or the Oscars. And of course my favorite part of any awards show is the red carpet. I really loved a lot of the dresses that were worn to the Golden Globes in January and I was hoping that for the Oscars they would be just as beautiful.

What did you think of the looks on yesterday’s red carpet? I wanted to do something a little more fun with this post so, just like they do on E!’s Fashion Police, you can let me know, Hot Dress or Hot Mess?

Mila Kunis

HOT DRESS ~ Mila Kunis looked very fresh and like she’s having fun in Elie Saab Couture. I loved the color and the vintage look of the lace. I have to say at first glance I wasn’t crazy about this dress but I think it was the boob part of the dress that was throwing me off. After growing on me during the night, I think Mila was one of the best dress. What do you think?

Amy Adams

HOT MESS ~ Amy Adams is wearing L’Wren Scott. This is probably one of the best looks on Amy Adams because of the color. The blue is just amazing and her hair was really nice as well. But, the green necklaces needed to go and I wasn’t crazy about her makeup. what do you think? Hot dress or hot mess?

Anne Hathaway

HOT DRESS ~ Styled by the fabulous Rachel Zoe, Anne Hathaway looked beautiful, a perfect lady in red in Valentino. You could tell she was very confident in the dress and it fit her well. I’m not crazy about the flower bunches on the sides of the dress, I’m not a big fan of extra material. What are you thoughts?

Camila Alves

HOT DRESS ~ I loved this dress! Camila looked stunning, so beautiful in Kaufman Franco. My favorite types of dress are simple and elegant. I do wish it was in a different color though, maybe an emerald green? Thoughts?

Cate Blanchett

HOT MESS ~ Cate Blanchett in Givenchy and I have to say that this is probably one of my least favorites of the night. Mess! Ok, next…

Celine Dion

HOT DRESS ~ Celine is wearing Giorgio Armani Privé and honestly one minute I love this dress and then I don’t. Help me decide, what are your thoughts…hot dress or does she look like a mess?

Gwyneth Paltrow

HOT DRESS ~ The lovely Gwyneth Paltrow in Calvin Klein. I really liked this dress after I saw it a few times. I liked the liquid effect and I liked that she kept her hair simple. She should have gotten rid of the pin of the side of the dress though.

Halle Berry

HOT DRESS ~ Halle Berry looks amazing in Marchesa. I love Marchesa, they are one of my favorites designers. Maybe a little too much extra on the bottom but it looks perfect on her.

Hilary Swank

HOT MESS ~ Hilary is wearing Gucci and I have to say I really like the dress, very different with the beading and the feathers but I don’t think this dress is for her. I feel that it would have looked better on someone like Nicole Kidman or Anne Hathaway. Do you agree?

Jennifer Hudson

HOT MESS ~ The first thing I noticed when I saw this dress on Jennifer (Atelier Versace) was her boobs and the color. Her body is amazing, her hair and makeup is pretty, and the dress is really beautiful but it’s not fitting her right in the top area. Right?

Mandy Moore

HOT DRESS ~ Mandy is wearing Monique Lhuillier and my only complaint about this dress is it washes out her skin tone a little.

Natalie Portman

HOT MESS ~ Natalie Portman is wearing Rodarte and she looks great in this color and the perfect gown for being pregnant but why oh why did she do matching shoes and earrings? No, that is a mess Natalie, we stopped doing that a long time ago!

Nicole Kidman

HOT MESS ~ Nicole Kidman in a mermaid dress. Wait! I mean Christian Dior. Hmmm, I don’t know what to say and what are those orange shoes she is wearing? Mess!

Penelope Cruz

HOT DRESS ~I love Penelope Cruz, she is always one of my favorites on the red carpet and doesn’t she look fantastic after just having a baby? Penelope is wearing L’Wren Scott and she wears it well, one of my favorites of the night.

Michelle Williams

HOT DRESS ~ I’m usually not a big fan of what Michelle wears but last night she just looked so happy, and she was glowing in Chanel.

Reese Witherspoon

HOT MESS ~ I know Reese was just trying to have fun on the red carpet (in Giorgio Armani), but this look was just not for the Oscars, more for a cocktail party. Poor Reese, still love her though.

Sandra Bullock

HOT DRESS ~ Sandra is wearing Vera Wang and I really liked this dress, again it’s simple and elegant. What do you think? Love or hate?

Scarlett Johansson

HOT MESS ~ I guess I’m saving the worst for last,Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana. I don’t like anything about this look, the dress, the hair, all bad. Do you agree with me?
