Banana Republic “Mad Men” Collection
Although Season 5 has been pushed back until 2012 (production started a few weeks ago) you can shop for the Mad Med collection at Banana Republic now. I have to admit I wasn’t sure what this collection was going to be like and it did sound kinda corny.

The beautiful January Jones as Betty Draper.
Have you had the chance to see collection for yourself? After taking a look I quickly changed my opinion. It’s actually quite fab and I have to say I’m actually a fan of the collection and most of the pieces I could see myself wearing. It was a good movie on behalf of Gap, Inc since it seems to be getting rave reviews.
The collection is designed by Banana Republic in collaboration with “Mad Men” Emmy® Award-winning Costume Designer Janie Bryant. Here’s what both teams have had say about working together.
“Working with Janie to gain a true understanding of the ‘Mad Men’ look and feel was a delight,” says Banana Republic Creative Director Simon Kneen. “Janie was instrumental in helping us achieve the series aesthetic and standard of authenticity with this capsule collection, offering sketches, her own inspirations and actual artifacts from the production set to help inspire the ‘Mad Men’ within all of us.”
“Collaborating with Simon and his team to design this collection was an experience I’ll never forget,” says Bryant. “It’s so rewarding to help create a collection that will allow fans of the series to channel their own ‘Mad Men’ style and take home fashionable items that are modern, not costume.”
I picked out a few of my favorites to show you but you can view the whole collection here.

What are your thoughts on the shoes and bags? I’m liking ways to accessorize with subtle animal print that is going to be everywhere this coming season. But I feel these accessories don’t look as good as the clothing collection.
