Marilyn Monroe Comes to Chicago
Today I thought it would be fun to go take a few pictures of the Marilyn Monroe statue from the movie The Seven Year Itch which has been catching a lot of attention here in Chicago.

Statue by New Jersey based artist Seward Johnson
Some are saying it’s a little racey with Marilyn’s famous dress blown up (you know the scene) showing her lace panties for everyone on Michigan Ave to see. Others are asking, why is the 26ft status is even here in Chicago when the iconic star and the classic movie which was filmed and based in New York City has nothing to do with Chicago.
Love or hate the status she’s here to stay until Spring 2012.

I have to say that the status does not personally offend me, it’s something fun and unique for Chicago and it’s been really drawing swarms of people who want to go and take pictures. When I stopped by there after work there was a pretty large crowd of tourists, teens, and little kids posing in front of the status. It didn’t seem like anyone was bothered or unimpressed…
What are your thought? I would love to know…
