My Interview with the Fab Robert Verdi at The Special K Event

On Tuesday I attended the Special K runway event that I told you all about last week. I went on my lunch hour and I had a blast watching the ladies strut down the runway while I snacked on Special K snacks.

Robert Verdi was hosting the event and he was so fun with friendly with everyone as he gave the ladies great tips while they walked down the runway. There was quite a crowd at the Thompson Center in downtown Chicago.

Everyone seemed to be really enjoying the event and checking out new Special K products. Lots of cheering as the ladies strutted their sassy selves in their favorite pairs of jeans.

Once Robert was done hosting I had the chance to sit down with him and ask how he teamed up with Special K, his favorite jeans and fall fashion trends, and who he is looking forward to seeing at NYFW.

Robert was amazing and so much fun and we had a good laugh during the interview.

Kelly: “How did you get involved with Special K and the event today?”

Robert: “I have a friend who worked over with the people who do the PR for Special K. She asked me if I wanted to be involved and I thought that was so funny because I had just finished the Special K challenge.”

Kelly: “What made you decided to do the Special K challenge?”

Robert: “I’m 43 so I decided that I need to start taking care of myself on all levels; health, fashion, financially, etc” So, I decided to start the Special K challenge. For 2 weeks I did the challenge, started to eat better, and exercised.”

“After 2 weeks, I took a break but would do the challenge a day here and there. In the end I ended up losing 13 pounds and getting rid of those love handles that guys have!” “So, when I was asked to be a part of Special K I said yes because it works and people want something that works.”

Kelly: “So, what do you love the most about the challenge?”

Robert: “I love that everything is easy and you can take it on go or on the road, just grab a bar like one of my favorites, the blueberry bar and when you need a snack it’s (rip) right there.” “You gotta try the new dark chocolate protein shakes too, they are fabulous!”

Kelly: “Fall is right around the corner, let’s talk about your favorite jean trends for the fall?”

Robert: “Colored Jeans, I’m sure you’ve noticed the celebs being photographed in these jeans, It’s going to be a big trend for the fall.” “This is a great piece to add to your wardrobe because it allows you to easily add some color.

“It’s all about bringing in pieces into your wardrobe not replacing your whole wardrobe each season. It’s important to built with quality pieces each season.” “So, you can buy a pair of red, orange, pink, or purple jeans and add your favorite jacket or cashmere sweater and you have a whole new look.” “I think it’s a really cool look.”

Kelly: I agree, I just brought a pair of electric blue and I love them! “I heard your going to NYFW, who are you excited to see?”

Robert: “I’m always really excited to see the big fashion houses, the legendary and iconic designers because it’s almost award season and it’s fun to see those gowns.”

“But ever since I was younger, I’ve been a huge fan of Michael Kors. I love what he does each season. He make a turtleneck look sexy, he makes camel look like a fresh new color.” He makes true classic clothing and keeps it fresh every year.” “He’s great, he’s amazing!”

Kelly: “I’m a huge Michael Kor fan too and I feel exactly the same way.”
