It’s Almost New Year’s Eve!!!
Can you believe it’s this time of the year again? Time is flying way too fast and I think that in order to slow things down I need to take time to make a few small changes in some of the things I do next year. I guess you can say it’s a stop and smell the roses kind of approach.
I’m not a huge believer in New Years resolutions. Most of them are unrealistic and you usually end up breaking them by the end of January, the big one being “I’m going to the gym.” But… I would like to start appreciating and start doing a few new things in 2012.
1.
I would like to take some time to read more. It actually works out pretty well because my brother brought me a Nook Color for Christmas and the first book I downloaded was one I’ve been wanting to read called My Life in Loubies.
2.
I keep telling myself and others that I want to have a more healthy lifestyle but I’m not going to fool myself, I really hate going to the gym. So, I need to find other things like a yoga or pilates class. Groupon and Living Social can also help with that, those sites always seem to have the best deals.
3.
Spending more time with my family. Everyone always says life is too short…and this year with everything that has happened with illness in our family, and losing my Grandma Nanny (she would hate being called Grandma) a week before Christmas. I need to definitely make them more a priority.
4.
A more realistic clothing budget. Ugh, I wish I didn’t have to worry so much about money, and maybe one day I won’t. But, until that day comes I need to start being so much better about spending. I was not working for almost 3 months this year and it really taught me to use my money more wisely. I ended up purchasing clothes that I really, really liked and guess what? I ended up buying some great pieces and I now have a much better winter wardrobe.
5.
Drink more water and take better care of my skin. I really try at this, I stopped tanning in beds a few years ago and I always often use sunscreen. I get in routines of taking off my makeup at night and doing treatments on my skin but then I get lazy. I need to stop being so lazy about it!
6.
Make lists. I get in these funks of being very lazy, especially in the winter. But each week if a write out everything I need to get done, I find that I actually accomplish way more and feel more organized too.
7.
To not get so upset about the small stuff, to think first before I react to situations, and to also be a better communicator. That’s just good advice for anyone really!
So, that’s my changes for 2012. No too bad, just a few small adjustments that can really help myself to become a better me.
I can’t forget as I write this post to share with you some of my favorite dresses for New Years Eve.
What are your plans for NYE? Are you making any changes in 2012? Share with me below!
