Fashion Focus Chicago: Macy’s Runway Show
On Thursday I had the chance to go to the Macy’s runway show and check out Spring 2010 collections. Even though it was pouring with rain no one seemed to mind as it was so much fun having fruity cocktails like The Catwalk and Pink Lemonade with strawberries and nosh on delicious appetizers.
As for the show, lots of fabulous new designers in Chicago as well as designers from Macy’s incubator collections. So check out who was there and what’s to come for Spring 2010.
Lara Miller
This was the first on the runway and actually my favorite designer of the entire show. I loved the soft colors such as the teal blues in her collection, it just felt so spring/summery and fresh.
Blake Standard
Blake Standard used to work for Abercrombie and I think he took that experience and used it to creative very easy to wear pieces that you can dress up for work or play. I did love the sparkly black hats and purse, I want one of those.
5P1T
Loving these fresh, exotic, bright colors for the Spring. I really liked the dresses and the darker green/lime greens tops that looked great with the khaki skirts.
Tennille White
This line is made for plus size women and it was fabulous; great casual looks, including coats and dress. I really like the off white tube top dress.
Laure Lein
Laure Lein collections was fun with vibrant colors and I really enjoyed the muti-colored layered dress.
Jermikko
Jermikko’s collections are all about long dresses and coat styles. I really loved the hats.
Up and Coming Designers in Chicago from Macy’s Incubator Collection.
Anna Hovet
Anna’s style and collection is all about having fun, with bright colorful leggings like in the picture above.
Zamrie
Cream skirts and light colors tops is what I saw from this collection. Great casual looks for the Spring.
Furio
Cream seems to be the common theme for the Spring 2010 look however, I think to pair cream with bright colors it can look very sophisticated and casual, and the brighter colors help to not wash out lighter skin types. I really liked Furio’s dress collection; cream dresses with an almost teal tortoise shell shell look very chic.
Nora del Busto
I really enjoyed this collections. I loved the prints, styles, and the colors. My favorite was the long flowing white and black dress ( “Abby” ).
Cynthia Ryba
Great collection using silk fabrics and beautiful colors.
Audey
Last designer was Audey, another collection that I really enjoyed. I really like the prints and my favorite was the bubble shaped green dress, just gorgeous.
