Last year, Vogue got together with New York designers and stores to team up for one night to offer discounts to help give the economy a boost. This year Chicago is joining the fun with our own Fashion Night Out this Friday, September 10th.

If you want to join in the fun, score discounts, see fashion shows, and get some freebies. Here is the list of stores in Chicago that are hosting Fashion Night Out.

Macy’s at Water Tower Place
Lush Cosmetics is providing shoppers with mini spa treatments. Then be sure to visit the Impulse department to receive special gifts when you purchase Joe’s Jeans and other designer goods. Plus, get your picture taken for a cover of Vogue magazine. 835 N Michigan Ave 6–11pm.

Neiman Marcus

Saks Fifth Avenue
Rock & roll is the vibe at Saks on Friday. Enjoy cocktails, live music and rock & roll makeovers. Shop with a MasterCard and get a free playlist. 700 N Michigan Ave 6–10pm.

SHE Boutique

Blake Standard

Girls Night Out ~ The Roof at The Wit Hotel

I love an excuse to get all dressed up, wear that new outfit, and have a girls night out at a fun and chic bar. If someone is coming to visit me in Chicago or I want to feel like I’m relaxing on vacation. I love to head to The Roof at The Wit Hotel in Chicago. Located on the corner of State and Lake The Roof has become know as one of the best bars in Chicago.

Open all year long, The Roof is 7,000 square feet on the 27th floor of The Wit Hotel featuring spectacular city views, roaring fire pits, plenty of seating to lounge with a group of friends, including a suspended over the city glass enclosed table for 8 people, flat screen T.V.’s, and live music or featured DJs. I have to say this hotel and lounge reminds me of my favorite hotel in Miami or New York City, The Gansevoort Hotel.

When I go to The Roof, I really enjoy the drink menu with unique cocktails like the Cucumber Ginger Mojito which is my favorite drink on the menu.

District Bar Presents Fashion District: Hot Ice

Last night I was able to head over to District Bar Chicago and check out their monthly fashion show, Fashion District. The theme of the show this month was Hot Ice and featured designers Meekis swimwear, Protégé eyewear, and the show was headlined by Elan Furs.

We got to the event right around 7pm and got great seats at the bar, right in front of the runway. If you have been to District Bar Chicago you already know that every night they have awesome specials. Last night they had 1/2 priced bottles of wine and 1/2 off all salads. So of course we took advantage and enjoyed a nice bottle of Cabernet and the steak salad while we waited for the show to start.

Since we had such great seats we were able to get some video of the show for you all to check out. This was the first time I had been to District to see a fashion show. I thought it was well done. I’m not into fur but the furs, sunglasses, and swimwear was super hot and it was a really unique show.

Looking to spice things up this Valentine’s Day? Want to get cozy with a loved one but don’t have the cash to have a big night out? Well, with a little imagination you can have a fabulous romantic night in without breaking the bank. Here are some idea on how to have a red hot night this Valentine’s Day.

Maybe your doing gifts but if you plan a special night in it’s not necessary. But, just in case here are some idea for guys and girls.

The Guys

A great gift you can get for your guy is something he will really appreciate, like a gift certification to get his car detailed or if he lets you drive it, take it yourself. Another idea is tickets to a game, event, concert, or comedy show.

Remember this holiday is about showing love and appreciation for each other, so I don’t think he will be thrilled with a pair of Old Navy boxers.

If you are reading this guys, girls like gifts on this holiday that are romantic. Yes, you can do the flowers and chocolate but everyone does that. Get her something sweet or sexy.
